Star Wars Detours…. Uncomfortably bad? Yes.
George Lucas just keeps making it harder to like Star Wars. I want to be able to defend him, but I don’t even know who this is for. I hate the animation style, not a single thing from this 3 and a half minutes made me laugh… in fact I’m sitting here with a really strange douched out feeling.
I’m uncomfortable in my own skin. I have a storm trooper tattoo, I own all the movies on VHS, DVD and Blu-ray. I buy the games and I love most of them, but this? This is painful. I like the Robot Chicken Specials and even the Family Guy Specials but they’re just that…. specials. This is a show, a series, something that is meant to stick around.
I know I don’t have to watch it… I don’t have to like it. There are always going to be things about Star Wars that I love, and I can always watch those old VHS tapes or laser discs if I want, but this is how an entire generation is going to grow up with Star Wars. I feel bad for the kid who’s first introduction to Princess Leia is with some Marty McFly wannabe character and her acting like a total bitch.
