RIP Tony Scott
I was really sad after hearing about Tony Scott last night but after hearing about the conditions and why he did what he did, I sympathize more than anything. An inoperable brain tumor is a scary idea and to be told that’s what you have must be terrifying for anyone.
While I wish he had stayed with us longer, given us more, I can’t help but feel for the man and on some level I understand why he did it. I’ll really miss him, his work, and the frenetic action he brought to the screen.
I grew up watching Top Gun with my dad on a regular basis. If we had a “guy’s movie night” it was often Top Gun or Days of Thunder. Man on Fire is a modern day classic and one of the best remakes of all time.
I’ll be watching his films all week and trying to see how he progressed as a director…. and maybe I’ll skip Pelham 123…. maybe not.
